Sushil Singhania
Chairman
As Chairman, Sushil Singhania sets the strategic direction of the Singhania Group. He guides the priorities that shape both operating businesses — Champion Advanced Materials in manufacturing and Champion Specialty Chemicals in distribution — alongside the Group’s family office and investment activities. His focus is on capital allocation, long-term positioning, and the relationships with principals, customers and employees on which a third-generation business depends.
He brings fifty years of experience in the chemicals industry, having joined the business founded by Purushottamlal Singhania in 1947 and guided its growth into a group of more than 150 people across offices, warehouses and manufacturing facilities.
Since 1980 he has travelled extensively in China, developing manufacturer relationships and first-hand commercial understanding of the region at a time when few Indian businesses had done so. That experience continues to inform the Group’s approach to global sourcing and its partnerships with international principals.
He was educated at St. Joseph’s School, Darjeeling and St. Xavier’s School, Kolkata, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata (1976).
Gaurav Singhania
Managing Director & CEO
Gaurav Singhania is Managing Director & CEO of the Singhania Group and runs the business day to day. He holds executive responsibility across both operating companies — manufacturing at Champion Advanced Materials and distribution at Champion Specialty Chemicals — covering commercial strategy, principal and customer relationships, operations, and the development of the Group’s people.
Representing the third generation of the family in the business, he joined after a career in international finance and strategy consulting, beginning in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in New York and continuing at Boston Consulting Group, also in New York. He brings that analytical discipline to a business built on relationships, with an emphasis on service reliability, technical depth, and transparency with principals and customers alike.
He was educated at the Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai, and holds a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He studied at Keble College, University of Oxford, and completed the Owner/President Management programme at Harvard Business School in 2023.
He is an active member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, Mumbai and the Young Presidents’ Organization, Bombay.
